🔴 International Women’s Day comes once a year. Periods come every month.

Writer: Laurence PaquetteLaurence Paquette

Yesterday, I felt like half a human. Because, like every month, my period is here. And it’s draining, uncomfortable, and exhausting.

We don’t talk about this much on LinkedIn, but we should. Women show up to work while dealing with cramps, fatigue, and brain fog. We push through meetings, deadlines, and responsibilities while our bodies demand rest. And for most of us, this happens every single month.

There’s no “pause” button. No grace period (pun intended). Just the expectation to keep going, to be productive, to perform as if nothing is happening.

So here’s my question: Why is this still a silent struggle in the workplace? Why do we act like it’s not happening when half the workforce experiences it?

It’s time to normalize the conversation. Because if women are expected to power through their periods at work, the least we can do is acknowledge it.

Have you ever had to push through work feeling like a ghost of yourself? Let’s talk about it. 👇
