When you’re used to privilege, equality feels like oppression.

“When you’re used to privilege, equality feels like oppression.” ⛔️
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately—especially in the workplace.
When more women speak up, when LGBTQIA+ employees ask for inclusion, when neurodivergent employees ask for flexibility, or when people of color are finally promoted…It’s not a threat.
It’s not unfair.
It’s equity. ⚖️
But to those who’ve always had the unspoken advantage, it can feel uncomfortable. And that discomfort? It’s not oppression. It’s just the playing field leveling out.If fairness feels like a loss, it’s worth asking:
Were things ever really fair to begin with?
True inclusion doesn’t take anything away—it creates space for everyone to thrive. And that’s the kind of workplace we should all strive for.
